چکیده
I assume that most students have encountered Turing machines before. (Students who have not may want to look at Sipser’s book [3].) A Turing machine is defined by an integer k ≥ 1, a finite set of states Q, an alphabet Γ, and a transition function δ : Q×Γk → Q×Γk−1×{L, S,R}k where: • k is the number of (infinite, one-dimensional) tapes used by the machine. In the general case we have k ≥ 3 and the first tape is a read-only input tape, the last is a write-once output tape, and the remaining k−2 tapes are work tapes. For Turing machines with boolean output (which is what we will mostly be concerned with in this course), an output tape is unnecessary since the output can be encoded into the final state of the Turing machine when it halts.

متن کاملDetermining the Proper compression Algorithm for Biomedical Signals and Design of an Optimum Graphic System to Display Them (TECHNICAL NOTES)
In this paper the need for employing a data reduction algorithm in using digital graphic systems to display biomedical signals is firstly addressed and then, some such algorithms are compared from different points of view (such as complexity, real time feasibility, etc.). Subsequently, it is concluded that Turning Point algorithm can be a suitable one for real time implementation on a microproc...
متن کاملInvestigations on larvae of commercial fish from Hurghada, Red Sea with notes on the spawning seasons and grounds of some species
The present work deals with the study of the fish larvae of coral reef fishes in the Red Sea (Hurghada). It aimed to study the spatial and temporal variations of fish larvae for the management purposes. Sampling stations were Marina, Sheraton, Magawish and Arabia. The samples were taken monthly throughout the period of study from August 2014 to July 2015 using plankton net with different mesh s...
متن کاملApplying KT Network Complexity to a Highly-Partnered Knowledge Transfer Effort; Comment on “Using Complexity and Network Concepts to Inform Healthcare Knowledge Translation”
The re-conceptualization of knowledge translation (KT) in Kitson and colleagues’ manuscript “Using Complexity and Network Concepts to Inform Healthcare Knowledge Translation” is an advancement in how one can incorporate implementation into the KT process. Kitson notes that “the challenge is to explain how it might help in the healthcare policy, practice, and research communities.” We propose th...

Background and Objectives: In many countries, there is a popular belief that the simultaneous handling of food and money contributes to the incidence of food-related public health incidents. The objective of this study was to determine the total bacterial count and the presence of food borne bacterial pathogens on Iranian currency notes, collected from food-related shops. Materials ...
